I'm Sue Cook. I am married with three grown up children. I spent several years as a single parent before meeting the man I’m now married to. I’ve had tough times and I’ve had good times – like most people.

The counselling approach that I am trained in is called Person Centred and as the name suggests it places great importance on the client being the expert in their own life and the counselling working with them to understand what they are experiencing and to find a way to bring about the changes the client wants.

I have also trained in CBT which seeks to change the way people think about certain things. This can be very effective when working with phobias. I have also completed training in solution focused therapy and working with families.

I work in a down to earth, practical way but provide you with the space to talk about how you are feeling and what you are experiencing without judging you. I try to facilitate my clients to talk about all the ‘stuff’ that’s bubbling away under the surface which inevitably affects the way they think and behave. This can be painful but it can also be liberating.

There is something really powerful about being heard free of judgement and feeling accepted and understood.

I live in Winchcombe and absolutely love the beautiful countryside that surrounds us. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, walking my dogs, horses and my work.
